At PeopleToGo, we are seeking a highly skilled Deskside Support Technician to join our team in St. John's, Newfoundland for a 3-month contract period.



Salary and Benefits


The successful candidate will receive an hourly rate of $22-$25 per hour, providing excellent compensation for their skills and experience.



Job Description


This role provides Incident Management Level 1 support, encompassing incident identification and resolution, as well as technical support and maintenance for all servers and systems at the designated site.


The ideal candidate will provide desktop and end-user support, ensuring accessibility to client tools and applications, and be responsible for incident identification and resolution for level I issues.


They will also support all facets of server administration, including logins, passwords, patching, backups, and restores at the local site.


Key responsibilities include completing daily, weekly, and monthly checklists accurately and in a timely manner, responsible for adds, moves, and changes of all users at the local center.


Additionally, they will participate in Change Implementation Management (CIM) and submit change control documentation in accordance with organizational standards.


Responsibilities also include IT asset management, inventory, and disposal, as well as all site software compliance issues.


As the primary IT point of contact for the Site Director, the successful candidate will be available 24x7x365 to support end-users on an as-needed basis.



Required Skills and Qualifications


The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor's degree, preferably with 2-4 years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.


Must have MCSE certification, MCP required, and knowledge of Windows 2000, 2003 server management applications, such as DHCP, DNS, Active Directory Users and Computers, etc.


Familiarity with VERITAS Backup Exec software, Microsoft ISA 2000, 2006 administration, Windows 2003 and patching requirements, Windows client operating systems, such as XP and Vista, and basic understanding of VMware.


Strong analytical and diagnostic skills, written, and verbal communication skills are essential for this role.
