Job Summary:

The University of Waterloo seeks a highly skilled and detail-oriented Strategic Engagement Coordinator to join its Advancement team. This dynamic role will play a crucial part in executing the university's alumni and donor experience initiatives, fostering strong relationships with stakeholders, and providing exceptional project support.

About the Role:

This exciting opportunity is designed for an individual who can effectively balance multiple priorities, think critically, and communicate effectively at all levels. As a Strategic Engagement Coordinator, you will be responsible for implementing and advancing various projects related to alumni and donor experience, collaborating with internal stakeholders, and ensuring seamless execution.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and track project deliverables and schedules, ensuring timely completion and meeting deadlines.
  • Analyze prospect data to determine viable segments for outreach, making recommendations to the AVP, Engagement based on analysis.
  • Collect and analyze outreach results data from various team members, generating custom reports to support strategic decision-making.
  • Oversight and data entry for multiple databases, maintaining data accuracy and integrity across the Engagement team.
  • Research and analyze engagement processes to ensure delivery against project targets, providing research-based guidance for projects aligning with engagement planning initiatives.
  • Create fact sheets and presentation materials profiling engagement research and metrics for diverse audiences.
  • Administer and coordinate special projects and departmental initiatives based on the health of the Engagement Pipeline.
  • Prepare internal reports to monitor the progress of fundraising campaigns, including detailed activity reports and project-specific reports.
  • Collaborate with Annual Giving and Alumni Relations to improve existing mass-outreach processes.
  • Support both Alumni and Development Officers on the Engagement team to increase activity volume through strategic outreach plans and engagement recommendations.

Requirements:

  • University degree or equivalent post-secondary education and/or experience required.
  • 5+ years in an administrative role, providing support to a senior role preferred.
  • Proven ability to build strong relationships and influence individuals at all levels of an organization, as well as external partners.
  • Independent judgement in areas of time management, task prioritization, and decision-making.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment, effectively managing complex competing priorities.
  • Strong technical skills related to data storage and organization, and ability to manage complex detailed work.
  • Knowledge of the University's policies, procedures, and operating requirements.
  • Strong initiative with the ability to anticipate the needs of the Engagement Team.
  • Proactive and highly resourceful.
  • Superb time management skills with a demonstrated ability to effectively set priorities, identify problems, and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written).
  • Ability to foster positive relations and manage a range of relationships.

Compensation Package:

We offer a competitive compensation package, including an estimated annual salary range of $70,000-$85,000, depending on experience, plus comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for professional growth and development.
