Pillar Nonprofit Network is seeking a qualified Program Coordinator to fill the role of Public Programming Coordinator on a 12-month maternity leave replacement, starting April 14th.

Job Overview

The Public Programming Coordinator develops, plans, delivers, supervises, and promotes the activities of the Public Programming Department for the organization. The coordinator will be responsible for the day-to-day interpretation and operation of the Heritage Village for public visitors, special events, and department coordination.

The typical work-week mid-May to mid-October during the Village operating season is Wednesday through Sunday. Weekend work, and working occasional evenings/holidays is required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Department Coordination: Responsible for planning, administration, staffing, and scheduling of the Department.
  • Public Programming: Coordinates delivery of on-site public programming including interpretation and events.
  • Site Operation: Oversees the operation of the Heritage Village.
  • Communications & Promotion: Responsible for tasks related to the promotion of public programs and events.
Requirements

Academic Qualifications: Academic degree in history, museum studies, or relevant discipline; or comparable experience in a museum or living-history environment.

Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience in the area of museum public programming, education, interpretation, heritage site supervision, or special event coordination.

Leadership Skills: Previous supervisory experience and strong leadership skills.

Skills: Detail-oriented with superior planning and organizational skills, flexible to change, and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, computer and social media literacy.
