The Shkagamik Kwe Health Centre is seeking a skilled Program Coordinator to design, implement, and evaluate programs that integrate traditional healing practices with community-based health initiatives. This role is pivotal in strengthening the connection between community members and culturally relevant health services.
Main Responsibilities:
- Develop and launch traditional and community health programs in alignment with the centre's mission.
- Create program frameworks, goals, and timelines that incorporate both traditional practices and modern health strategies.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with community members, indigenous leaders, local organizations, and stakeholders.
- Facilitate community meetings, focus groups, and outreach initiatives to gather input and ensure programs are culturally resonant.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Health Administration, Social Work, Community Development, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in program coordination, community outreach, or managing culturally sensitive projects.
- Strong understanding of traditional healing practices and indigenous cultural protocols.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
