Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Project Manager to lead the planning, scheduling, and coordination of technical projects/contracts from inception to final acceptance for our nuclear infrastructure development initiatives.

About Us:
Nuclear Waste Management Organization (NWMO) is a leading organization in the field of nuclear waste management. Our team is dedicated to developing safe and responsible solutions for managing Canada's used nuclear fuel.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop project execution strategies and plans, including objectives, scope definition, cost estimates, and schedules.
• Manage external design agencies for engineering design oversight contracts related to Human Factors Engineering, Pressure Boundary Applications, Fire Protection Engineering, and other technical services.
• Ensure design management process requirements are adhered to with a focus on design verification.
• Communicate regularly with internal stakeholders and other designated contacts within NWMO to understand competing priorities.
• Prepare compliance matrices to ensure all project requirements are complied with.
• Meet with consultants and contractors as required to interpret requirements, review progress, address deviations from plans, and obtain cooperation in processes and discuss ideas.

Requirements:
• Four-year university degree in Engineering or a related field.
• A minimum of 8-10 years of relevant experience in full-cycle projects and contract management, including the management of complex technical projects from concept through to operations.
• Comprehensive knowledge of contract and project management principles and practices, including conceptual planning and all phases of design.
• Direct experience preparing design documents in support of regulatory submissions.
• Strong writing skills and the ability to distill complicated technical documents into concise summaries.
• Excellent professional presentation skills to present information and respond to questions from public officials, contractors, the public, and other stakeholders.

Assets:
• Registered or eligible to be registered as a Professional Engineer in the Province of Ontario.
• Knowledge of Human Factors and/or Fire Protection and/or Pressure Boundary Applications.
• Experience working at a licensed nuclear facility.
• Familiarity with project and contract management software.

Salary:$120,000 - $150,000 per year, depending on experience.
