Overview

KPMG in Canada is seeking a seasoned professional to lead our Justice and Security cluster as a Director in our Government Practice. This strategic, high-profile role will unite our Justice and Security and Government national practices to create a coordinated strategy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support business development initiatives to identify, market, and secure winning clients.
  • Lead a team of high performers, maintain strong client relations, and shape deliverables of outstanding work products.
  • Create followership and support recruiting, marketing, and practice administration as required.
Requirements
  • 12-15+ years of comparable experience in consulting, with hands-on Justice and Security sector experience.
  • Strong relationships with Director and/or Executive-level contacts, and a solid understanding of key trends in the sector locally and nationally.
  • Ability to operate effectively, be a self-starter, and mature the practice amid ambiguity, changing market conditions, and rapid change.
Justice and Security Specific Experience
  • Experience working with police boards, federal, provincial, and municipal police services, and governments to identify opportunities that maximize resources through intelligence-led systems.
  • Sound knowledge of the Acts, Regulations, Rules, regulatory frameworks, and standards, and relevant policy and procedures, and ability to interpret and apply to justice and security transformation considerations and initiatives.
  • Experience with Strategy, Planning, Analytics, and Performance, including operational and strategic plan reporting, management information services, modeling, research, and analysis.
Leadership, Relationship Building, and Communication Skills
  • Ability to cultivate relationships at management and executive levels, both internally and externally, to drive business development initiatives.
  • Ability to succeed in both team-based and independent environments.
  • Excellent leadership and collaboration skills, including ability to lead a dedicated team and collaborating with complementary teams towards achieving common goals.
