Job Summary

The Regional Director – Disability Services Winnipeg is a key leadership role within the Department of Families, Community Services and Supports. The successful candidate will lead and manage the delivery of programs and services that support adults living with an intellectual disability, and children with disabilities and their families.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the delivery of programs and services that support adults living with an intellectual disability, and children with disabilities and their families.
  • Provide advice and support to the Executive Director responsible for Regional Social Services.
  • Collaborate with community partners and external resources to design and implement legislation, policies, and programs that support individuals with disabilities.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve departmental goals and objectives.
  • Manage and oversee the budget and financial resources for the region.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary degree in social work, business, or public administration, or a related field.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in social services, including program delivery, program oversight, evaluation, and financial management.
  • Proven leadership and management experience, with a commitment to creating and sustaining a diverse environment that enables staff to achieve results and develop for the future.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with experience managing internal and external stakeholder relationships.
  • Political acumen, with experience providing strategic advice to senior leaders on complex topics and sensitive issues.
  • Strong financial acumen, with experience in budgeting and financial management.
