About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Occupational Health and Safety Supervisor to join our team at REMCAN Projects LP. As a key member of our safety team, you will be responsible for leading our Health and Safety initiatives and ensuring a safe working environment for our employees and clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the Health and Safety Team: Provide strategic direction and guidance to our Health and Safety team, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Conduct Safety Audits and Inspections: Conduct regular safety audits and inspections to identify potential hazards and implement corrective actions to prevent accidents and injuries.
  • Develop and Implement Safety Programs: Develop and implement safety programs and procedures to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Provide Training and Coaching: Provide training and coaching to employees on safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including operations, maintenance, and engineering, to ensure safety is integrated into all aspects of our business.
  • Manage Safety Data and Reporting: Manage safety data and reporting, including incident investigations, near misses, and safety metrics.
  • Stay Up-to-Date with Regulatory Requirements: Stay up-to-date with regulatory requirements and industry best practices, ensuring our safety programs and procedures are compliant and effective.
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in a railway-related field position, preferably in engineering or track services.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience in an OH&S position with a heavy industrial company.
  • Occupational Health and Safety Diploma/Certification or relevant experience.
  • Good knowledge of WorkSafe Regulations and other legal responsibilities.
  • Additional OH&S training and knowledge are considered assets, such as incident investigation, fall protection, first aid, confined space, train the trainer, supervisor training, and CSTS-09.
  • Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) or Canadian Registered Safety Technician (CRST) certification is preferred.
  • Joint Health and Safety Certification is preferred.
  • First Aid certification is required.
  • Class G License with a clean Driver's abstract is required.
