Job Summary

FortisBC is seeking an Operations Support Representative to provide administrative support to our operations team. As an Operations Support Representative, you will be responsible for a wide range of tasks, including:

  • Providing detailed job information to crews, customers, and other stakeholders
  • Expediting field resources, tools, and equipment as needed
  • Analyzing and interpreting information to support operations
  • Notifying and assigning personnel and contacting various bodies as required
  • Processing work orders and notifications
  • Entering and correcting field completion data
  • Ordering and arranging required resources
  • Maintaining contact with field resources and answering enquiries
  • Acting as primary telephone contact for inbound customer calls

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • High School graduation including courses in office practices and business communications
  • Nine (9) months directly related relevant work experience
  • Demonstrated sound organizational skills, including the ability to multi-task, prioritize, and work under pressure
  • Demonstrated sound verbal and written communication skills, including telephone call handling skills
  • Demonstrated courteous and professional manner in dealing with internal and external contacts
  • Demonstrated fast and accurate keyboarding skills
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of computer systems operations and various software applications
  • Demonstrated sound knowledge of field operations processes and procedures
  • Demonstrated sound analytical and decision-making skills
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret data from a variety of sources

Additional Information

This position has restricted holiday availability based on operational requirements. Assignment to work groups within Operations Process Support will be dependent on customer and operational requirements. This position may involve shift work or late coverage, depending on customer and operational requirements. Potential for variable day, afternoon, and night shifts – 7 days a week – 24 hours a day.
