About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Support Specialist to join our team at Blackman Support Services Ltd. as a key member of our technical support team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Technical Support: Provide technical assistance to users experiencing difficulties with computer systems, software, and hardware.
  • Problem-Solving: Consult user guides, technical manuals, and other documents to research and implement solutions to technical issues.
  • Training and Development: Provide advice and training to users in response to identified difficulties, ensuring they have the necessary skills to use computer systems effectively.
  • Log Maintenance: Collect, organize, and maintain a problems and solutions log for use by other technical support analysts.
  • Application Redesign: Participate in the redesign of applications and other software to improve user experience and efficiency.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise other technical support workers in this group, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality service delivery.
  • System Support: Provide business systems, network, and Internet support to users in response to identified difficulties.
  • Equipment Setup: Set up equipment for employee use, ensuring proper installation of cables, operating systems, or appropriate software.
  • System Maintenance: Perform Web-server backup and recovery operations to ensure system uptime and data integrity.
Requirements
  • Computer and Technology Knowledge: Proficiency in networking software, hardware, security software, database software, MS Office, SQL, SharePoint, MS Exchange, server hardware, enterprise resource planning (ERP) software, material requirements planning (MRP) system, cloud, and virtualization.
  • Equipment, Systems, and Controls Experience: Familiarity with security systems.
  • Security and Safety: Ability to undergo a criminal record check.
  • Transportation/Travel Information: Willingness to travel.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Ability to work under pressure and sit for extended periods.
  • Personal Suitability: Excellent interpersonal skills, oral communication, written communication, organization, multitasking, analytical, and efficiency.
