**Job Summary**: We are seeking an experienced Senior Machine Shop Production Manager to lead our machine shop team in a dynamic and fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in manufacturing, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to drive production efficiency and quality.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Machining Leadership: Direct machine shop employees in day-to-day production activities, ensuring smooth operation and efficient use of resources.
  • Production Planning: Track all machine shop jobs to ensure on-budget completion, prepare mitigation plans for projects tracking over budget, and assist with scheduling jobs to meet customer delivery deadlines.
  • Technical Machining Expertise: Serve as the main technical machining representative for the company, liaising with customers, suppliers, and other stakeholders to resolve technical issues and improve processes.
  • Employee Management: Recruit, hire, and conduct performance evaluations for machine shop employees, promoting a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.

**Requirements:

  • 10+ years' experience in a machine shop environment or engineering department of a manufacturer with heavy machining capabilities.
  • Good time management and problem-solving skills.
  • Skilled at conflict resolution, people management, and production planning.
  • Competence with computer software.
