Clinical Receptionist for Shared Clinics

We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Clinical Receptionist to join our team in the Shared Clinics department at IWK Health. As a key member of our front-line staff, you will be responsible for providing exceptional patient care and administrative support to our patients, families, and healthcare teams.
The OpportunityReporting to the Manager, Ambulatory Surgical Care, and under the supervision of the Clinical Leader, the Clinical Receptionist performs a variety of tasks required for the efficient operation of Shared Clinics. These responsibilities include:
- Answering phone calls and responding to patient inquiries
- Maintaining accurate health records and performing data entry
- Ordering patient tests and managing office supplies
- Providing administrative support to healthcare teams and ensuring seamless communication
You will work closely with colleagues, patients, families, students, and the public to provide respectful and collaborative service, adhering to principles of family-centered care and Health Centre standards.
RequirementsTo be successful in this role, you must have:
- A minimum High School Diploma or GED
- Demonstrated accurate keyboarding and data entry skills
- Knowledge of Meditech (PCI, Order entry)
- Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, etc.)
- Previous experience in a similar role (an asset)
Possession of additional certifications or diplomas in medical terminology, secretarial or office administration is an asset. Knowledge of other languages, particularly French, is also an asset.

Please note that salary estimates may vary based on location, industry standards, and individual qualifications. For this role, we estimate the salary range to be approximately $22-$24 per hour, commensurate with experience.
