The Role

We are seeking a skilled Developmental Clinic Nurse to join our team at Nova Scotia Health and IWK Health. As a key member of our Developmental Clinic Team, you will work collaboratively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to provide coordinated, best-practice care for children and youth with developmental concerns.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct child and family interviews, assessments, interventions, and follow-ups as indicated.
  • Coordinate appointments and case conferences for families as needed.
  • Provide education and support to patients and families.
  • Act as a resource for families regarding support services available in the community.
  • Develop and maintain internal and external partnerships.
  • Advocate on behalf of patients and families.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing.
  • Registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing.
  • Current BLS certification.
  • A minimum of five years clinical experience, with three years of pediatric nursing experience.
  • Demonstrated understanding of development and related issues through the life span.
  • Sound judgment, independent decision-making, and leadership skills.
