About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled Clinical Psychologist to join our interdisciplinary team at Nova Scotia Health. As a member of our team, you will provide assessment, diagnosis, consultation, and psychotherapy services to patients. Your expertise in conducting comprehensive assessments, including violence risk, personality, and cognitive skills, will be invaluable in supporting our patients' mental health and well-being.

The successful candidate will have a recognized MSc in Clinical Psychology from an accredited university program, be registered or eligible for registration with the NSBEP, and have a minimum of two years of relevant clinical experience. Advanced psychotherapy skills and training in ISTDP are assets. You will also demonstrate maturity and a capacity to work effectively with resistant and sometimes challenging client groups.

About You
  • Recognized MSc in Clinical Psychology from an accredited university program
  • Registered or eligible for registration with the NSBEP
  • A minimum of two years relevant clinical experience is preferred
  • Advanced psychotherapy skills and training in ISTDP as asset
  • Formal training and clinical experience in conducting psychological and cognitive assessment and consultation
  • The successful candidate will also demonstrate maturity and a capacity to work effectively with resistant and sometimes challenging client groups
  • Self-directed in practice with an ability to work independently and as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team while dealing with challenging clinical situations and crises
  • Demonstrated ability and expertise in developing and presenting education programs to health care professionals and community organizations
  • Experience with the provision of clinical supervision to students from psychology and other mental health disciplines, and willingness to incorporate such responsibilities into work routine
  • Competencies in other languages is an asset, French preferred
Hours
  • Long Assignment, Part-time / 50% FTE / 37.5 Hours Bi-weekly
  • July 2024 to August 2025, approximately 12 months
Compensation and Incentives

$37.31 - $49.05 Hourly

Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
