About the Role
We are seeking a Transformational Recovery Coach to join our team at Phoenix Society. As a key member of our integrated services, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals affected by substance use and mental health challenges.
Job Summary
The Transformational Recovery Coach provides counseling and support to adults experiencing mental health and substance use issues. This position facilitates recovery and capacity building, maximizing social and economic life potentials and supporting successful independent living in the community. The coach will work closely with clients, other services, and resources to provide education, referrals, and tailored client care plans.
Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive assessment interviews, ensuring client privacy and confidentiality.
- Assess clients' suitability for the program and make referrals when necessary.
- Orient clients to the program, educating them on recovery maintenance, relapse prevention, and personal life management.
- Maintain accurate records, reports, and statistics required by management.
- Collaborate with the addiction services team on case planning and concerns.
- Communicate effectively with clients, colleagues, and external partners.
- Facilitate group sessions, arrange facilities and materials, and assist with program evaluation.
Qualifications
- A Master's degree in counseling and registration with BCACC.
- 3-5 years of experience in community social services, working with marginalized populations and substance use services.
- Demonstrated knowledge of population health framework, social determinants of health, biopsychosocial model of addiction, and concurrent disorders.
Skills & Knowledge
- Strong knowledge of recovery, substance use, concurrent disorders, and addictions counseling.
- Familiarity with facilitation, mediation, and conflict resolution techniques.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lead, work in trauma-informed practice, and make effective referrals.
Estimated Salary: $45.75 - $56.00 per hour based on experience and location.
