Position Summary

Salary Range

The salary range for the position is $67,861 to $97,550. Interior Health establishes salaries within the minimum and maximum of the salary range based on consideration of the qualifications, experience of the applicant, and an internal equity review of the salaries of other employees.

Key ResponsibilitiesProgram Development and Implementation
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate provincial, regional, and site-wide initiatives to improve/maintain site/program operations and staff safety.
  • Liaise with department managers to provide a standard approach to Workplace Health and Safety Initiatives.
  • Retrieve, analyze, and present strategic utilization information to support operational and administrative decision-making.
Health and Safety
  • In alignment with IH's Occupational Health & Safety Program, maintain a healthy and safe work environment through complying with and implementing applicable Occupational Health and Safety Regulation.
  • Respond to requests from WSBC, identify hazards, and communicate risks.
  • Ensure compliance with employee training, conduct effective incident investigations, and implement required corrective actions.
Coordination and Collaboration
  • In collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, facilitate change within the facility or program by supporting IH initiatives, monitoring on-going compliance, identifying needs, and providing timely feedback.
  • Develop follow-up processes with staff and others. Resolve day-to-day problems as required, evaluate operating procedures, and advise management as necessary.
  • Coordinate site-wide health and safety initiatives as well as quality control initiatives.
Reporting and Quality Improvement
  • Accountable to quality reporting programs by following up with staff incident reports; resolve complaints in coordination with leadership.
  • Support the development, implementation, and evaluation of unit or department-specific goals and objectives, standards, and policies.
Analysis and Data Management
  • Analyze current trends and data in assigned areas of responsibility related to the provision of accessible, comprehensive, efficient, and effective service/care.
  • Participate in the development and implementation of the local quality improvement and risk management initiatives in accordance with Interior Health standards and processes.
Qualifications
  • A diploma in Business Management, Human Resources, Health and Safety, or a related field.
  • Three to five years of experience, including a minimum two years of leadership experience.
  • Or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
Skills and Abilities
  • Demonstrated ability to guide individuals and groups while maintaining group cohesion, motivation, commitment, and effectiveness.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively introduce and manage change that is consistent with the vision, purpose, and operating principles of Interior Health.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, develop, implement, manage, and evaluate programs.
