Job Title: Full-Time Permanent Support Worker

Location: College

Job Summary:

Pathways to Independence is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Support Worker to join our team. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in providing assisted living support for adults with dual diagnosis, mental health, and behavioral challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide personalized support to individuals with dual diagnosis, mental health, and behavioral challenges, promoting their rights, choices, and self-determination.
  • Implement established strategies and behavior management plans under the general direction of the Manager and Counsellor.
  • Support individuals with daily living tasks, such as homemaking, personal care, and community activities.
  • Develop and maintain accurate client information and documentation.
  • Participate in a positive team environment and contribute to a culture of excellence.
  • Advocate on behalf of clients and promote their independence and community living skills.
  • Collaborate with the Client Services Manager to ensure the delivery of high-quality services and supports.

Requirements:

  • Secondary School Graduation, and a minimum one-year post-secondary certificate in Human or Health Sciences (Personal Support Worker or equivalent).
  • Current First Aid and CPR certification.
  • Valid G class driver's license.
  • Proof of full COVID vaccination.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with adults with dual diagnosis, mental health, or other cognitive impairment in a residential, community, or independent living environment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment.
  • Computer literacy with proficiency in electronic mail and other computer-based tools.
