Senior Corporate Lawyer

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Solicitor to join our Nova Scotia Barristers' Society in a Permanent role, reporting directly to the Director Legal. This position entails negotiating, drafting, interpreting, and reviewing contracts and legal agreements, including construction arrangements, supply of goods and services, and technology agreements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Negotiating, drafting, interpreting, and reviewing contracts and legal agreements.
- Providing support and advice to business leaders engaged in third-party negotiations.
- Offering contract administration and claims management guidance.
- Ensuring the protection of the organization's interests align with applicable laws and regulations.
- Additional duties as assigned by senior management.
You will be accountable for personal safety, that of colleagues, and those under your supervision by observing and ensuring compliance with Occupational Health and Safety Rules and Regulations. You will also be responsible for environmental performance related to the environment management system processes and initiatives.
The ideal candidate should possess:
- A Law Degree from a recognized university.
- A minimum of 5 years relevant experience.
- Substantial expertise in preparing and negotiating commercial agreements.
- Experience in privacy law is considered an asset.
- Background working for a regulated entity is also viewed favorably.
- Must be a member of good standing with a provincial law society and eligible for admission to the Nova Scotia Barrister's Society.
- Exceptional communication skills, allowing for effective and non-technical interaction with various stakeholders.
- A proactive approach, combined with excellent interpersonal skills and a keen interest in contributing to the Company's business strategy.
This role requires occasional travel.
