We are seeking an experienced Labour Lawyer to join our Labour Relations team. Reporting directly to the Managing Lawyer, this role will act as a corporate resource for NSHA and IWK, providing expert advice on collective agreement interpretation, labour legislation, and regulations.

About the Opportunity

This dynamic role will involve:

  • Providing strategic direction and legal advice on complex labour issues;
  • Analyzing and advising on sensitive and multidimensional problems, both independently and collaboratively with the labour law team;
  • Assessing grievances and acting as lead negotiator for collective bargaining and essential services negotiation;
  • Representing clients before the Labour Board and occasionally the courts;

With a strong background in labour law and experience in client relations, collective bargaining, essential services, labour arbitrations, and alternative dispute resolution, you will be well-equipped to navigate the complexities of this role.

We welcome candidates with expertise in administrative law, employment law, human rights law, and privacy law. Experience in providing advice related to labour legislation and regulations, as well as representing clients before labour and administrative tribunals, is highly valued.

To succeed in this position, you must possess excellent analytical and communication skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
