We are seeking a highly skilled CORPORATE LAWYER to join our team at Nova Scotia Power.

About the Role:

  • This is a permanent position in our Corporate Legal department, reporting directly to the Director of Legal.
  • You will be responsible for negotiating and drafting contracts and legal agreements related to construction, supply of goods and services, and technology.

Your Key Responsibilities Will Include:

  • Negotiating and drafting commercial agreements with third parties.
  • Providing advice and support to business leaders on contract administration and claims management.
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable laws and regulations to protect the organization's interests.

You Will Be Successful In This Role If You:

  • Have a Law Degree from a recognized university.
  • Possess a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in corporate law.
  • Have extensive experience in preparing and negotiating commercial agreements.
  • Are a member of good standing with a provincial law society and eligible for admission to the Nova Scotia Barrister's Society.

A Competitive Salary Range For This Position Is $120,000 - $180,000 Per Year, depending on your level of experience. This salary estimate takes into account the average salary range for senior solicitors in Halifax, Nova Scotia, as well as the company's commitment to providing competitive compensation packages.
