The Penny McKee - Abbottsfield Branch is a vital hub in the community, providing library services and fostering relationships with residents. Located inside the Riverview Crossing Mall, this branch offers a modern space designed to meet evolving community needs.

We are seeking an experienced manager with exceptional communication and leadership skills to motivate staff, provide excellent customer service, lead projects, and build community connections. The ideal candidate will possess coaching and mentoring abilities that empower staff to grow and excel.

The selected candidate will oversee this service point, managing a budget of $1 million, 18 full-time and part-time positions, as well as the facility, collections, and services. They will use their organizational skills to best serve the community's needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead and manage staff to deliver exceptional library services
  • Develop and maintain strong community relationships
  • Oversee facility management, including maintenance and operations
  • Manage collections, programs, and services

This role requires a commitment to intellectual freedom and other key principles of librarianship. The successful candidate will uphold and model the ideals found in the CLA position statements on Intellectual Freedom and Diversity and Inclusion.

To be considered for this position, candidates must have:

  • Three years of progressively responsible professional library, leadership, supervisory, management or directly related experience

Compensation and Benefits:

This is a permanent full-time position with a salary range of $90,140 - $112,676 per annum. Benefits include access to employee wellness programs, flexible work arrangements, and opportunities for professional development.
