
Accounting Specialist

Job Summary
This role plays a critical part in the Accounting team, requiring a skilled Financial Analyst who can provide insightful analysis, drive process improvements, and collaborate with stakeholders to achieve business objectives.
Key Accountabilities
1. Develop and maintain accurate financial models, forecasts, and budgets, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
2. Analyze financial data, identifying trends, and providing recommendations for process improvements and cost savings.
3. Collaborate with the Accounting team to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting, reconciliations, and journal entries.
4. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including management, department heads, and external partners.
5. Provide expert advice and guidance on financial matters, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
6. Identify and investigate financial discrepancies, recommending corrective actions and implementing process improvements as necessary.
Requirements
1. Bachelor's degree in Commerce or Accounting, with a focus on accounting principles and practices.
2. 3-5 years of experience in an accounting environment, with a strong understanding of financial regulations and procedures.
3. Enrollment in a professional accounting designation program is considered an asset, demonstrating a commitment to ongoing learning and development.
4. Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial data and communicate findings effectively.
5. Proficiency in spreadsheet applications, particularly Excel, with advanced skills in data analysis and visualization.
6. Strong organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
7. Effective problem-solving skills, with the ability to anticipate, prevent, and resolve issues as they arise.
8. Attention to detail, with a willingness to dig into complex financial data and ask probing questions.
9. Flexibility and adaptability, with a commitment to providing exceptional customer service.
10. Desire for continuous learning, with a willingness to understand other areas of the business and contribute to its growth and success.
