Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Front Desk Hospitality Specialist to join our team at the Best Western Fernie Plus Mountain Lodge.

About the Role

This is a permanent position with a 40-hour workweek, offering a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package.

Key Responsibilities
  • Register arriving guests and assign rooms in a friendly and efficient manner
  • Process group arrivals and departures, ensuring seamless transitions for our guests
  • Take, cancel, and change room reservations while maintaining an up-to-date inventory of vacancies and room assignments
  • Provide valuable insights about local points of interest to enhance our guests' experiences
  • Process guest departures, calculate charges, and receive payments accurately and promptly
  • Balance cash and complete balance sheets, cash reports, and related forms with precision
  • Maintain accurate records of reservations and room assignments to ensure smooth operations
  • Follow established emergency and safety procedures to ensure the well-being of our guests and staff
  • Perform various clerical duties, including faxing, filing, and photocopying, as needed
  • Answer phone calls and relay messages efficiently and professionally
  • Assist guests with special needs, providing personalized support and care
  • Contact guests to deliver requested wake-up calls, enhancing their stay with us
  • Deliver exceptional customer service, exceeding expectations and building loyalty among our valued guests
Requirements
  • No degree, certificate, or diploma required; we provide on-the-job training
  • Experience not necessary; a willingness to learn and grow with our team is essential
  • English language proficiency required, reflecting our primary language of operation

The estimated annual salary for this role is $42,000 - $55,000 based on industry standards and regional factors.
