The Best Western Fernie Plus Mountain Lodge is seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Front Desk Associate to join our team. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our guests, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring their stay with us is memorable.

About the Role

This is a permanent position working 40 hours per week, offering a competitive salary of $45,000 per year. The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Register arriving guests and assign rooms in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Process group arrivals and departures, taking into account the specific needs of each group.
  • Take, cancel, and change room reservations as required, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Provide valuable information on hotel facilities and services, such as dining options and local attractions.
  • Offer general information about points of interest in the area, enhancing the guest experience.
  • Exchange foreign currency and process guests' departures, calculating charges and receiving payments accurately.
  • Balance cash and complete balance sheets, cash reports, and related forms, maintaining high levels of accuracy.
  • Maintain an inventory of vacancies, reservations, and room assignments, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Follow emergency and safety procedures, prioritizing the well-being of our guests and staff.
  • Perform various clerical duties, including faxing, filing, photocopying, and answering telephones.
  • Relay telephone calls and messages efficiently, maintaining clear communication channels.
  • Contact customers to deliver requested wake-up calls, ensuring prompt service.
  • Provide exceptional customer service, addressing any concerns or issues promptly and professionally.
