We are seeking an Administrative Officer to join our team at the Collingwood Insurance Centre Inc.

About the Role

This is a permanent, part-time position working 30 hours per week. The salary for this role is $60,000 per year, based on industry standards and location.

Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Co-ordinating office services, including accommodation, relocation, equipment, supplies, forms, disposal of assets, parking, maintenance, and security services;
  • Overseeing and co-ordinating office administrative procedures;
  • Acting as liaison between staff and management around wellness issues;
  • Developing and implementing policies and procedures for daily operations;
  • Setting up and maintaining manual and computerized information filing systems;
  • Establishing administrative procedures;
  • Providing awareness training to employees to create a welcoming work environment for persons with disabilities;
  • Recruiting newcomers and/or refugees who were displaced by a conflict or a natural disaster (e.g. Ukraine, Afghanistan);
  • Providing diversity and cross-cultural trainings to create a welcoming work environment for newcomers and/or refugees;
  • Providing cultural competency training and/or awareness training to all employees to create a welcoming work environment for Indigenous workers;
  • Providing staff with awareness training to create a welcoming work environment for mature workers;
  • Applying hiring policies that discourage discrimination against members of visible minorities;
  • Providing diversity and cross-cultural training to create a welcoming work environment for members of visible minorities;
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience in an administrative role;
  • A high school diploma or equivalent;
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills;
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment;
  • Flexibility and reliability;
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively;
  • Team player with accurate and reliable results;
  • Fast learner with ability to adapt to changing priorities;
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy;
  • Basic computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office;
