Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Payroll Benefits Coordinator to join our team in a Manufacturing setting. Reporting directly to the HR Manager, this role is an excellent opportunity to work closely with senior leadership and contribute to the success of our organization.

About the Role

This Payroll Benefits Coordinator position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in Payroll/HR, preferably in a manufacturing environment. A post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business, or Accounting is preferred, and CHRP or CHRL designation is considered an asset.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review timecards for errors and omissions, including schedule changes, and prepare weekly payroll for both hourly and salaried employees.
  • Manage employee exceptions, such as vacation pay, garnishments, deductions, and other adjustments.
  • Responsible for payroll journal entries in the ERP system.
  • Answer and resolve payroll-related inquiries.
  • Maintain electronic archives of active and inactive employee files.
  • Hiring and termination setup in ADP, including employee and pay profiles.
  • Monthly WSIB billing and annual reconciliation, submitting payments as required.
  • Roll out employee agreements to all hourly and salaried employees.
  • Monitor absenteeism and manage disciplines as needed.
  • Review wages and ensure pay rates are adjusted in the ADP system.
Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Possess a post-secondary education, preferably in Human Resources, Business, or Accounting.
  • CHRP or CHRL designation is a plus.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Payroll/HR in a manufacturing setting is an asset.
  • Knowledge of Employment Law.
  • ADP Workforce Now Payroll system experience is mandatory.
