Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Compensation and Benefits Specialist to join our team in a manufacturing setting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Payroll Management: Prepare weekly payroll for both hourly & salaried employees, including office staff, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations.
  • Employee Exception Handling: Manage employee exceptions, including vacation pay, garnishments, deductions, and other adjustments, maintaining confidentiality and discretion.
  • Payroll Journal Entries: Responsible for payroll journal entries in the ERP system, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Payroll Inquiries: Answer and solve payroll-related inquiries from employees, providing clear and concise information.
  • Electronic Archives: Maintain electronic archives of active and inactive employee files, adhering to data protection policies.
  • Hiring & Termination Setup: Set up new hires and terminations in ADP, including employee and pay profiles.
  • WSIB Billing: Monthly WSIB billing and annual reconciliation, submitting payments in a timely manner.
  • Employee Agreements: Roll out employee agreements to all hourly and salaried employees, ensuring compliance.
  • Absenteeism Monitoring: Monitor absenteeism and manage disciplines as required, maintaining a fair and consistent approach.
Requirements:
  • Education: Possess a post-secondary education, preferably with a degree or diploma in Human Resources, Business, or Accounting.
  • Certifications: CHRP or CHRL designation is an asset.
  • Experience: 3-5 years' experience in Payroll/HR in a manufacturing setting is an advantage.
  • Knowledge: Familiarity with Employment Law and ADP Workforce Now Payroll system is essential.
