Job Title: Event Coordinator

Job Summary: We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Event Coordinator to join our team at Mount Alverno Resort and Retreat. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating and managing events, conferences, and meetings, ensuring seamless execution and exceptional guest experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in preparing financial reports and managing budgets
  • Promote conference and meeting services or special events
  • Recruit, hire, and supervise staff and/or volunteers
  • Develop financial procedures and determine requirements for hospitality services
  • Co-ordinate and monitor conference and meeting activities and attend to related details
  • Plan and arrange for accommodation and transportation services
  • Plan schedules, goals, and objectives
  • Develop registration systems and information materials
  • Plan for traffic and crowd control and security
  • Plan for social events and guest programs
  • Develop policies and procedures and attend to other management responsibilities
  • Prepare final financial and other reports

Requirements:

  • College, CEGEP, or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
  • 1 year to less than 2 years of experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Efficient interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
  • Flexibility and initiative
  • Organized and accurate
  • Team player

Work Environment:

Mount Alverno Resort and Retreat is a dynamic and fast-paced environment that requires a high level of organization and attention to detail. The successful candidate will be working in a team environment and will be required to communicate effectively with colleagues, guests, and vendors.
