About the Role:

We are seeking a seasoned Senior Counsel to join our Canadian Disputes team. As a key member of our Litigation Department, you will provide strategic and tactical advice to our business partners, while managing external counsel in all aspects of litigation.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement strategies for resolving complex securities litigation cases
  • Manage external counsel and ensure timely and effective resolution of disputes
  • Provide best-in-class litigation advice to our business partners
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify key legal risks and mitigation strategies
  • Provide guidance on contractual interpretation and drafting, pre-litigation dispute resolution, and litigation risk analysis
  • Support the development and implementation of policies and procedures to mitigate risk and enable business success
  • Build and maintain positive working relationships with internal and external partners

Requirements:

  • Law degree from an accredited law school and qualified to practice law in Ontario
  • 7+ years of post-call litigation experience, preferably in securities litigation
  • Advanced analytical and problem-solving skills, with excellent judgment and leadership abilities
  • Ability to communicate complex legal issues clearly and effectively
  • Strong technology aptitude, including proficiency with office software and ability to learn new technologies

Compensation:

The estimated salary for this role is $170,000 - $220,000 per annum, depending on experience. We also offer a comprehensive benefits package, including health and wellness benefits, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
