Senior Counsel

Royal Bank of Canada is seeking a highly skilled Senior Counsel to provide legal support to its Canadian Personal Banking and Investments business. This full-time contract position will end on August 7, 2025, and the ideal candidate will have a strong background in banking and consumer protection law.
The successful candidate will report to Managing Counsel, Personal Banking and Lending Products, and be located in Toronto. Key responsibilities will include providing legal services primarily to Canadian Banking's personal banking and savings lines of business, acting as a legal and regulatory expert for personal banking and savings products, and collaborating with business risk and compliance functions on regulatory compliance issues.
To succeed in this role, you must be qualified as a lawyer in Canada with a high level of proficiency in specialized and complex areas of law. You should also possess excellent communication and drafting skills, strong risk assessment and business judgment, and be comfortable managing competing priorities and working under tight deadlines.
