Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Human Resources Consultant to join our team at Pan Am Clinic. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for providing expert guidance and support to our employees and management team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide consultative direction and coaching to HR Consultants, Managers, and Supervisors on HR-related matters.
  • Respond to questions and address issues normally raised to the Director in their absence.
  • Represent HR on site and/or regional committees or working groups.
  • Consult on issues related to Performance Management, Attendance Support, and Respectful Workplace Complaints.
  • Interpret collective agreements and non-union policies, and work with Managers on application of progressive discipline and grievance processes.
  • Investigate workplace complaints, facilitate dispute resolution, and conduct exit interviews.
  • Initiate and implement recruitment activities to meet regular and special resource needs.
  • Support clients in organizational design and re-design, and provide expertise in reviewing and writing job descriptions.
  • Develop learning plans that are linked to talent management assessments and future role development.
  • Support employee and leadership education, learning, and development.
  • Lead employee engagement initiatives to create a great work environment.
  • Use metrics, data, and reporting to support client needs and identify areas for workplace improvement.
Requirements
  • Seven years of experience in a unionized environment successfully managing human resource functions in progressively responsible HR roles.
  • Undergraduate degree in human resources or a relevant discipline combined with a post-graduate certificate in human resources management from a recognized post-secondary institution.
  • Chartered Professional in Human Resources designation with current membership in good standing or equivalent is preferred.
