We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Business Partner to join our team as a strategic advisor to employees and leaders of assigned business units within TSX Inc. The successful candidate will provide consultation and solutions on various HR-related matters, working closely with the HR Centres of Excellence (Total Rewards, Talent Management, Talent Acquisition, and Employee Communications) on initiatives such as employee engagement, workforce planning, employee relations, talent management, succession planning, and organizational redesigns.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Develop expertise in business areas to create and implement people plans that enable businesses to achieve their goals and objectives in adherence to our HR policies and programs.
  2. In partnership with the Director, Human Resources, and HR CoEs, support the development, delivery, and deployment of HR initiatives and processes, including relationship management, business-specific talent strategy, HR consulting and delivery, employee relations, employee terminations, day-to-day coaching, org design/job design, change management, and team development.
  3. Act as a subject matter expert and prepare presentations and materials for team meetings, town halls, workshops, board meetings, etc., as needed.
  4. Workforce planning (org design, needs forecasting, terminations, and severance), ensuring that the interests of employees and the company are considered in accordance with HR policies and applicable employment legislation.
  5. Advise managers and employees on employee-related issues, including performance gaps, development plans, complaints, human rights issues, etc.
  6. Manage the year-end performance cycle, including leading calibration sessions and year-end merit and bonus for assigned business portfolios.
  7. BUILD expertise on TSX's HR policies, programs, and culture to respond to day-to-day employee and manager inquiries through our ServiceNow ticketing system.
  8. Recommend and execute people plans to ensure leaders meet their strategic people-related objectives while operating within TSX's policies and programs.
  9. Work closely with external legal counsel on various employment files and partner with outplacement firms, handling employee terminations.
  10. Ability to interact with employees at all levels of the organization, including senior executives, with comprehensive problem-solving and solutioning skills.
  11. Work with Talent partners to jointly address staffing gaps.
  12. Ensure that the interests of employees and the company are considered in accordance with HR policies and applicable government laws and regulations (ESA, Human Rights Code).
  13. Develop strong, positive relationships with HR (Total Rewards, Shared Services, Learning, and Talent) to balance satisfying business requests and adherence to our HR policies and programs.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources Management or equivalent employee relations experience required.
  • Minimum 5 years progressive HR experience with demonstrated knowledge in client relationship management required.
  • Technologically proficient and ideally has experience with the Google Suite and Workday.
  • CHRP designation or post-graduate degree preferred.
  • Positive attitude, willing to learn and continually improve to build relationships and functional expertise.
  • Strong client leadership skills, consultative, mutual problem-solving approach.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in English and French; able to present at town halls and write clearly and succinctly to internal and external recipients.
  • Team player, focused on building excellent relationships with a willingness to work in partnership.
  • Excellent organizational skills, multitasking, and working under pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and regular change.
  • Strong integrity, maintaining confidentiality, and managing highly sensitive information.

Salary Range

$80,000 - $120,000 per annum, based on qualifications and experience.
