Role Overview

A Vice President within Teneo Strategic Communications is a key member of our account teams. This role involves executing holistic, integrated programs and communications initiatives to support Teneo's clients. Responsibilities may include corporate communications and investor relations programs, executive positioning campaigns, media relations strategies, and issues and crisis management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work on Calgary-based client accounts and support client work in the Toronto, Montréal, and global offices
  • Prepare client-ready written content, strategic plans, press releases, talking points, Q&As, briefing memos, and distributed media materials; manage messages; and coordinate client program activities
  • Serve as a reliable, adaptable resource for senior team members capable of overseeing others
  • Contribute to the Business Development process, including proposal development and pitch participation
  • Support operational requirements in the office, including Teneo marketing events and business development activities

Requirements

  • 5 – 10 years of experience in public relations, corporate communications, media, investor relations, or relevant fields
  • Strong track record of managing client relationships
  • Experience managing large teams, with a focus on mentoring junior staff
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to see complex projects through to execution
  • Knowledge of the media landscape and a demonstrated ability to engage with journalists and/or foster journalist relationships
  • Experience with issues and crisis management, or complex and/or sensitive mandates
  • Demonstrated understanding of business and capital markets
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with experience delivering presentations in PowerPoint
  • Ability to navigate complex or ambiguous environments
  • Strong familiarity with social media platforms and media and monitoring tools such as Meltwater
  • Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent
