Job Overview
The Process Control Technician will provide technical support services to monitor and improve process control systems and instrumentation performance site-wide. Reporting to the Team Leader, Electrical Services, and working a two-weeks-on, two-weeks-off rotation at the Ekati mine site, the successful candidate will be expected to assist and work with other disciplines.
Key Responsibilities
- Apply sound technical and investigative practices to identify problems;
- Repair and calibrate field devices;
- Focus on preventative maintenance;
- Develop and implement performance monitoring and testing programs;
- Analyze results, identify challenges, and recommend improvements.
Requirements
- Journeyman Instrument Mechanic certification (Red Seal) or a diploma in a recognized Instrumentation Technical program;
- 3 years' experience in a technical capacity;
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills;
- Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities;
- A broad knowledge of the types of equipment, machinery, and processes used in the precious stones process industry;
- Specialization in Process Control and Instrumentation systems and experience in Modicon PLC and Wonderware HMI control systems, and knowledge of database systems such as SQL is considered an asset;
- Experience with VMware, Cisco Network switches, and administering Windows systems.

Additional Information
We provide travel to and from the Ekati mine site out of Calgary, Yellowknife, and other northern fly points. Preference will be given to qualified applicants from our Impact Benefit Agreement (IBA) Groups.
