Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Air Quality Technician to join our team at SLR Consulting (Canada). As an Air Quality Technician, you will play a key role in working on projects across the Northwest Territories, including Giant Mine.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform regular sampling at air quality monitoring stations
  • Download continuous monitoring data and perform analyses and reporting of the measurement data
  • Liaise with the analytical laboratories providing sample analyses, ensuring analysis and data reporting schedules are being followed
  • Conduct independent analyses, interpretations, and conclusions
  • Prepare a variety of environmental reports
  • Plan, report and track schedules, stakeholders and budget as part of project management
  • Follow established health and safety policies

Qualifications

  • Ideal 1 year of experience in the environmental services industry (previous co-op or internship experience considered)
  • Familiarity with air dispersion models, including AERMOD and CALPUFF considered an asset
  • Familiar with project management concepts, tools, and controls
  • Work well independently including ability to work alone in remote locations and adapt to conditions/resources
  • Exposure to other environmental consulting services (hydrogeology, contaminated sites, risk assessment) is an asset
  • Degree or a technical diploma in environmental science, engineering, or related studies is an asset
  • Valid driver's license required for travel to job sites/clients
