Overview

Arcadis is seeking a Commercial Director Canada / Cost and Commercial BUL2 Western Canada to join our team. As part of our Cost Management department, you'll be involved in a wide range of construction projects from global, high profile clients to smaller projects, ensuring they're delivered on time and to budget.

Job Description

You will manage the delivery of cost management in the construction sector of large complex projects, ensuring standards of delivery meet defined objectives. You will also be responsible for delivering the defined scope of work in line with various controls and will have significant technical knowledge and experience in your field. As a Business Unit Leader, you will be responsible for profitably growing the Cost & Commercial business in BC with GBA Mobility strategy and financial targets.

Main Responsibilities
  1. Implementing the Mobility strategy:

    • Lead the country business unit with ultimate accountability for P&L performance and service quality delivery within the unit;
    • Develop and oversee the implementation of the strategy to ensure service quality delivery, service excellence, and profitable growth within the unit, to support the delivery of the line of business objectives.
  2. Lead, motivate and develop a diverse team of senior specialists by recruiting, setting objectives, and reviewing performance to ensure staff are developed, driven, and have the necessary skills to deliver the program objectives.

  3. Develop and implement the country business plan for the unit and ensure the team understands it, and the role that they play in its achievement through the development of the appropriate culture and the provision of context and clarity.

  4. Lead the identification and targeting of clients through the delivery of service excellence to deliver growth in organic revenue and win work in the country business unit.

  5. Build strong relationships and create successful teams:

    • Develop enduring relationships with clients to understand their business needs and ensure client satisfaction to improve retention and deliver organic revenue growth.
  6. Coach and mentor practice group managers, service managers, project managers, and technical managers within the Business Unit to ensure all projects are set up for success and appropriate governance is adhered to, with the goal of improved client satisfaction.

  7. Lead the identification of talent in the business unit in both technical and project delivery capability and sales and promote career development by directing individuals who are identified to the appropriate development programs.

  8. Lead decisions on resource utilization within the business unit and maintain the integrity of the unit composition and pyramid management structure to enable resource optimization.

  9. Lead the identification and management of risk in service delivery and ensure compliance with governance processes in the business unit to lead to service excellence and client satisfaction.

  10. Maintain an in-depth and up-to-date understanding of the business unit's clients and the market to identify key trends and emerging opportunities.

  11. Develop relationships throughout Arcadis to foster cooperation and to maximize opportunities to cross-sell and trade-up.

Salary Information

We offer a competitive salary ranging from $120,000 to $160,000 per year, depending on experience, along with a comprehensive benefits package.

  • Bachelor's or master's degree
  • 15 years of experience leading and growing a significant business function within a professional services firm
