Job Title: Leadership Giving Officer

Reporting to the Director, Individual Giving, the Leadership Giving Officer is responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of donor relationships at various fundraising stages. The incumbent will nurture and develop sustainable long-term relationships with select private sector businesses, corporations, foundations, and individuals to maximize support to Queen's University.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement communication and donor engagement strategies with various donor groups.
  • Support senior staff on development decisions throughout the donor engagement lifecycle.
  • Identify, evaluate, and recommend approaches to gaining or deepening relationships with current and prospective donors.
  • Develop objectives, discuss strategies for meeting objectives, and execute annual plans.
  • Identify, evaluate, and solicit prospective donors (individuals, corporations, and foundations).
  • Create and maintain print, email, and web content to support departmental priorities.
  • Update all contact and solicitation activity in the database.
  • Write case statements and donor proposals in support of key solicitation/engagement opportunities.
  • Coordinate fundraising volunteer meetings, recognition, communication, and engagement opportunities.
  • Collaborate with other Advancement staff to plan and facilitate development activities.
Requirements:
  • Four-Year bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  • More than 3 years and up to and including 5 years of experience.
  • Experience developing and/or implementing fundraising and/or major gift plans is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of relationship building, fundraising, and stewardship is considered an asset.
  • Previous experience building relationships with donors is considered an asset.
  • Experience in data, trend analysis, and reporting is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, policies, standards, and/or guidelines is considered an asset.
  • Experience in planning and/or managing projects is considered an asset.
  • Experience working at a post-secondary education institution is considered an asset.
  • Experience working with diverse populations/equity deserving groups is considered an asset.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • G Driver's License required.
  • Valid Passport with no travel restrictions is required.
  • Satisfactory Criminal Records Check required.
