Job Title: Leadership Giving Officer

Reporting to the Director, Individual Giving, the Leadership Giving Officer is responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of donor relationships at various fundraising stages. The incumbent will nurture and develop sustainable long-term relationships with select private sector businesses, corporations, foundations, and individuals to maximize support to Queen's University.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Develop and implement communication and donor engagement strategies with various donor groups.
  2. Support senior staff on development decisions throughout the donor engagement lifecycle.
  3. Identify, evaluate, and recommend approaches to gaining or deepening relationships with current and prospective donors.
  4. Develop objectives, discuss strategies for meeting objectives, and execute annual plans.
  5. Identify, evaluate, and solicit prospective donors (individuals, corporations, and foundations).
  6. Create and maintain print, email, and web content to support departmental priorities.
  7. Update all contact and solicitation activity in the database.
  8. Write case statements and donor proposals in support of key solicitation/engagement opportunities.
  9. Coordinate fundraising volunteer meetings, recognition, communication, and engagement opportunities.
  10. Collaborate with other Advancement staff to plan and facilitate development activities.
Requirements:
  1. Four-year bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  2. More than 3 years and up to and including 5 years of experience.
  3. Experience developing and/or implementing fundraising and/or major gift plans is considered an asset.
  4. Knowledge of relationship building, fundraising, and stewardship is considered an asset.
  5. Previous experience building relationships with donors is considered an asset.
  6. Experience in data, trend analysis, and reporting is considered an asset.
  7. Knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, policies, standards, and/or guidelines is considered an asset.
  8. Experience in planning and/or managing projects is considered an asset.
  9. Experience working at a post-secondary education institution is considered an asset.
  10. Experience working with diverse populations/equity deserving groups is considered an asset.
Preferred Qualifications:
  1. G Driver's License required.
  2. Valid Passport with no travel restrictions is required.
  3. Satisfactory Criminal Records Check required.
  4. Consideration may be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience.
