Job Title: Research Nurse Coordinator
Job Summary:In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of clinical research studies at McMaster University. As a Research Nurse Coordinator, you will ensure that all aspects of the study protocol are adhered to, and you will coordinate with other team members to manage patient care from study entry to completion.
Key Responsibilities:- Assume primary responsibility for preparing and implementing clinical research protocols.
- Participate in developing and authoring research protocols as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Troubleshoot problems throughout project development and implementation, making modifications to protocols or procedures as needed.
- Interview patients, conduct physical and psychiatric assessments to determine eligibility for research studies.
- Monitor patients for adverse reactions and respond accordingly.
- Moderate discussions with family members and caregivers who may be hesitant to participate in studies, educating them about disease processes and study benefits.
- Liaise between clinic centers and remote sites, coordinating with personnel.
- Analyze and process information to ensure accurate and appropriate patient management.
- Apply research methodology, handling research materials according to established protocols, policies, and procedures.
- Conduct assessments to determine suitability for projects and degree of disease acuity.
- Apply scientific principles to review, critically appraise, and interpret published literature.
- Foster empathy with study patients, addressing their needs.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing.
- 4 years of relevant experience.
- Registration and annual registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario as a Registered Nurse.
$85,000 - $110,000 per annum, based on experience and location.
