Landscape Worker Job Description

RTJ Landscaping is seeking a skilled Landscape Worker to join our team. As a key member of our outdoor team, you will be responsible for maintaining the beauty and functionality of our clients' outdoor spaces.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with landscape constructions, including planting, pruning, and trimming trees and plants.
  • Tie and secure plants, ensuring they are properly installed and secure.
  • Weed, prune, and trim trees and plants to maintain their health and appearance.
  • Cut grass and other vegetation to maintain a neat and tidy appearance.
  • Rake and collect refuse, ensuring the work site is clean and safe.
  • Remove litter and garbage, maintaining a clean and healthy environment.
  • Cart and spread topsoil and other materials, as needed.
  • Lay sod or seed, ensuring a lush and healthy lawn.
  • Plant bulbs, flowers, shrubs, and trees, enhancing the beauty of our clients' outdoor spaces.
  • Apply fertilizers, as needed, to promote healthy plant growth.
  • Water and tend to plants, lawns, and/or gardens, ensuring they receive the necessary care.
  • Operate and maintain landscape maintenance equipment, ensuring it is in good working condition.
  • Remove trees, as needed, to maintain a safe and healthy environment.
Work Environment:

As a Landscape Worker, you will work outdoors in a variety of environments, including hotels, motels, resorts, golf courses, sports fields, urban and rural areas, and private residences. You will be exposed to wet/damp, noisy, odorous, dusty, and hot conditions.

Requirements:
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to handle heavy loads and work in physically demanding conditions.
  • Attention to detail and ability to distinguish between colors.
  • Ability to work in a combination of sitting, standing, and walking positions.
  • Ability to bend, crouch, and kneel, as needed.
  • Dependability, reliability, and a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and maintain a positive attitude.
Language:

English or French.

Work Schedule:

32 hours per week.
