About the Role

CMLS Financial is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Vice President, Real Estate Finance to join our team in Montreal. As a key member of our commercial mortgage lending team, you will be responsible for originating commercial mortgages for the Quebec market.

Key Responsibilities
  • Originate commercial mortgages for the Quebec market, leveraging your network of contacts and resources to identify new business opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, including real estate investors and developers.
  • Conduct financial analysis to determine borrower lending options and negotiate deals to meet CMLS Financial's objectives.
  • Work closely with our team to prepare and deliver mortgage presentations, assessing and preparing relevant information on behalf of the borrower.
  • Stay up-to-date on market trends and competitive activity, using this information to develop key market strategies.
  • Represent CMLS Financial in a professional and courteous manner, liaising with internal stakeholders and external influencers to achieve business growth and build strong ties in the business community.
Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree in finance, economics, urban land development, accounting, or business administration.
  • At least 5 years of experience in commercial mortgage lending, preferably with a commercial mortgage firm, a major financial institution, or other commercial lending group.
  • Licensed as a mortgage broker or agent in Ontario.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to negotiate and manage conflict.
  • Experience in creating and delivering business presentations, including public speaking.
  • Relationship management skills, including the ability to establish and maintain a network of key contacts and resources.
  • Motivated and results-driven, with an entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to provide flexible solutions to clients.
