About the Role:

We are looking for a full-time clinical psychologist to provide psychological assessment and treatment to military members at CFB Halifax. This role offers a hybrid schedule with 4 days spent working in a collaborative team setting and 1 day working from home.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psycho-diagnostic assessments with adult populations, including differential diagnosis
  • Provide professional services related to the diagnosis, assessment, evaluation, treatment, and prevention of psychological, emotional, psycho-physiological, and behavioral disorders with adult populations
  • Administer diagnostic tests for psychometric assessment, interpret results, and prepare psychological evaluations
  • Report results and interpretations to the multi-disciplinary team
  • Provide evidence-based treatments for various mental health conditions, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and trauma processing therapies
  • Participate in case reviews as a member of the multi-disciplinary mental health team
  • Lead and participate in the development, instruction, and counseling during sessions for specific mental illnesses

Requirements:

  • Degree in Clinical Psychology from an accredited university recognized by the Canadian Psychological Association or American Psychological Association
  • Registered as a Psychologist and authorized for autonomous practice with the appropriate provincial licensing body
  • 2 years of full-time post-graduate experience under a license for autonomous practice within the last 5 years, completing psycho-diagnostic assessments, including differential diagnosis, and providing Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and trauma processing therapy for adults with PTSD, anxiety, mood disorders, and other various mental health illnesses

Additional Requirements:

  • The successful candidate must be eligible to attain a Government Security Clearance at the Reliability level
