Calian is a leading provider of healthcare services to the Canadian Armed Forces, and we are currently seeking a full-time Clinical Psychologist to join our team at CFB Halifax.

Job Overview

  • Provide psychological assessment and treatment to military members in a hybrid work environment, with 4 days spent working in a collaborative team setting and 1 day from home.

About the Role

  • Conduct psycho-diagnostic assessments with an adult population, including differential diagnosis.
  • Provide professional services related to the diagnosis, assessment, evaluation, treatment, and prevention of psychological, emotional, psycho-physiological, and behavioral disorders in adults.
  • Administer appropriate diagnostic tests for psychometric assessment, interpret results, and prepare psychological evaluations.
  • Report results and interpretations of tests, interviews, and evaluations to the multi-disciplinary team.
  • Provide treatment of various mental health conditions for Canadian Armed Forces members using evidence-based practice, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and trauma processing therapies.
  • Participate as a member of the multi-disciplinary mental health team in case reviews.
  • Lead and participate in the development, instruction, and counseling during sessions for specific mental illnesses, such as anxiety, PTSD, depression, and stress management.
  • Assist in the identification, development, and evolution of mental health programming.
  • Create and maintain patient records in a timely manner.

Requirements

  • A degree in Clinical Psychology from an accredited university by the Canadian Psychological Association or American Psychological Association.
  • Registration as a Psychologist and authorization for autonomous practice with the appropriate provincial licensing body.
  • At least 2 years of full-time, post-graduate experience under a license for autonomous practice, within the last 5 years, completing psycho-diagnostic assessments, including differential diagnosis, and providing treatment using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and trauma processing therapy for adults with PTSD, anxiety, mood disorders, and other various mental health illnesses.
