Job Summary

As a Regional Fire Marshal, you will provide leadership and guidance on fire safety matters for all Regional facilities, including hospitals, Long Term Care, Personal Care Homes, Community Health Services, and Corporate spaces.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide fire safety leadership, guidance, and assistance to Regional facilities.
  • Read, interpret, and apply fire and building codes and standards to occupied institutional buildings.
Requirements
  • At least 5 years of experience as a Fire Marshal in a large institutional setting or as a Fire Inspector in a large municipal fire department.
  • Completion of IFSAC certified courses in NFPA 472, Hazardous Materials Awareness training, NFPA 1031, Fire Inspector, Level I & II, and NFPA 1035, Public Fire & Life Safety Educator, Level I.
  • Certification in Fire Protection and Emergency Planning is an asset.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Provincial Acts and Regulations relative to fire protection and prevention.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of the Manitoba Building and Fire Codes.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of Municipal Codes and By-laws relative to fire protection and prevention.
