Job Summary

Hamilton Health Sciences is seeking a skilled Child and Youth Worker to join our team at McMaster Children's Hospital. As a valued member of our interdisciplinary team, you will provide care to children and youth with complex mental health issues in our acute inpatient setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish effective therapeutic relationships with children and youth
  • Assess mental status and develop individualized care plans
  • Implement and evaluate various therapeutic interventions
  • Provide support, education, and coaching to children, youth, and their families

Requirements

  • Diploma in Child and Youth Counseling or Degree in Child and Youth Care
  • Current full Professional Certified membership with the Ontario Association of Child and Youth Counselors
  • Minimum of two years child and youth mental health inpatient experience
  • Demonstrated experience in developing, implementing, and evaluating individual and group programming
