Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Mental Health Support Specialist to join our team at Good Shepherd Centres. As a Community Mental Health Worker, you will play a crucial role in supporting individuals with mental health needs in a community-based setting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and develop support plans to promote mental health and well-being.
  • Provide counseling and guidance to individuals and families.
  • Collaborate with community resources and services to ensure comprehensive support.
  • Facilitate social interaction and community integration.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with community partners and stakeholders.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in social work, nursing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of five years' experience in mental health, preferably in a community-based setting.
  • Strong case management and community development skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a mobile/outreach environment.
  • Knowledge of community resources and the forensic system.
  • Recovery-oriented practice and cultural sensitivity.
