The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a pediatric population, supporting the attainment of exercise and nutrition goals, and contributing to the development of interdisciplinary clinical, research, and educational services for children and adolescents.

About the Role

We are looking for a qualified Clinical Psychologist to work in the Pediatric Medicine Clinics at McMaster Children's Hospital. The ideal candidate will have experience in assessing, planning, monitoring, and evaluating client goal achievement through individual and group interventions.

Responsibilities include:

  • Conducting psychological assessments (e.g., psychometric, diagnostic)
  • Developing and implementing treatment plans
  • Providing consultation to staff on psychology-related issues
  • Leading program development, quality assurance, and research initiatives

Qualifications

The successful candidate must possess a Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from an accredited university, with a preference given to those with an emphasis in child psychology. They must also be registered or eligible for registration with the College of Psychologists of Ontario and have authorization to work with children and adolescents.

A minimum of three years of recent, relevant experience in a mental health setting, preferably serving an outpatient pediatric population, is required. Advanced skills in the development and documentation of specific interventions, conducting research, and evaluating service outcomes are also necessary.
