Job Summary:

This is a contract opportunity for a Strategic HR Business Partner to join our team at The Estèe Lauder Companies. As a key member of our Canadian Affiliate, you will play a pivotal role in supporting various brands with a focus on Field and Retail employees.

About the Role:
  • We are seeking a seasoned HR professional to provide leadership and consulting support in areas such as change management, teambuilding, conflict resolution, performance management, progressive discipline, talent management, talent acquisition, compensation, and employee development.
  • The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a broad range of HR disciplines, including talent acquisition, succession planning, retention, employee relations, performance management, progressive discipline, and career development, while ensuring alignment between HR activities and the strategic priorities of the brand/function based on the overall corporate strategy.
Main Accountabilities:
  1. Provide expert guidance and consulting support to senior managers on HR-related matters, including talent acquisition, succession planning, retention, employee relations, performance management, and progressive discipline.
  2. Investigate employee grievances and cases of discrimination, harassment, and other employee relations allegations, and work closely with legal counsel when needed to assess and mitigate potential risk and exposure.
  3. Proactively identify trends or issues affecting employees and advise managers on appropriate actions and solutions to create positive employee relations.
  4. Manage the talent acquisition process, including sourcing, screening, testing, interviewing, and selecting candidates for office employees across various brands/functions.
  5. Partner with people managers to deliver training needs assessments, education in goal setting, setting expectations, measuring accountability, and maintaining a high-performance culture.
  6. Work collaboratively with the management team and compensation team to develop job evaluation, pay actions, and recommending and implementing pay structure revisions.
  7. Maintain management guidelines by preparing, updating, and recommending human resources policies and procedures, ensuring standardization of policies/practices across all brands and functions.
  8. Deliver business-driven HR solutions that foster a culture of inclusion, diversity, and equity, and promote fair and consistent management practices.
  9. Participate in HR transformation projects, such as new process implementations, new HR technology, organizational design projects, and other initiatives that drive business growth and improve employee experiences.
About You:
  • You have a minimum of 7 years of relevant working experience in Human Resources, with a strong background in employment law, organizational planning, employee relations, training and development, talent management, performance management, and talent acquisition.
  • A CHRP designation is preferred, but not required.
  • You possess strong written and verbal communication skills, relationship management skills, and the ability to partner with senior management to drive business objectives while considering employees' interests.
  • You have a proven track record of providing excellent problem-solving and negotiation skills, particularly in complex employee relation cases.
  • You have well-developed business acumen and can demonstrate how to implement/manage change effectively.
  • You have excellent communication, presentation, leadership, and management skills, with the ability to handle multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.
  • You have technical skills in MS Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Taleo, and Oracle, or similar software.
Salary Range:

The estimated salary for this position is $89,900 to $129,600 per year, depending on your level of experience, skills, education, and qualifications.
