Job Overview

This role reports directly to the President & CEO, reflecting the strong emphasis placed on the Human Resources function by the CEO and the Board. As Senior Human Resources Business Partner, you will be responsible for effectively managing all human resource functions, including directing matters relating to policies, procedures, recruitment, labour, employee relations, legal, organizational development, technical training, and health and safety in support of this rapidly expanding company (300+ employees).

You will lead the development of innovative HR concepts in areas such as Core Competencies, career development, and coaching. This position requires strategic thinking, effective communication, and leadership skills to drive results in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement high-level Human Resources concepts and tools (Core Competencies, Career Development processes, etc.).
  2. Formulate and champion the HR vision, mandate, and strategies within the overall business plan.
  3. Coach and advise management and employees on personnel activities.
  4. Ensure deployment of corporate policies and procedures.
  5. Develop effective recruitment practices and function as a key player in the recruitment and hiring of staff.
  6. Help build and maintain employee morale and enable the organization to increase its capacity for change.
  7. Identify legal requirements and government regulations and ensure compliance.
  8. Coordinate corporate organizational development programs.
  9. Manage technical training activities across operations.
  10. Implement controls and metrics to manage costs.
Deliverables

The following are specific deliverables that this position is designed to achieve:

  1. Develop a consistent labour policy across all manufacturing plants.
  2. Prepare (with the support of the CEO) and present to the Executive Team an HR strategic plan that clearly identifies key priorities.
  3. Learn the company's business and industry to contextualize HR activities.

Preferred Experience / Education

The following indicates specific industry, academic, and functional experience/qualifications that are important to the successful achievement of the identified responsibilities and performance deliverables:

  1. Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
  2. 5-10 years of broad-based and progressive experience in a general human resources leadership role in industrial environments.
  3. Ability to communicate in French is a definite asset.
  4. Demonstrated success in leading a strategic HR function.
  5. Proven leadership and management skills with knowledge of current industry best practices.
  6. Able to grow the HR function as required and work effectively in a fast-paced culture.
Compensation Package

The estimated annual salary for this position is between $120,000 and $180,000 depending on qualifications and experience. The compensation package includes benefits and opportunities for growth and professional development in a dynamic and rapidly expanding company.
