Content Director

We are seeking a highly skilled Content Director to lead our digital content strategy and team at Sun Life Financial. As a key member of our marketing team, you will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive content plan that drives business growth and enhances the client experience.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and maintain a content strategy that aligns with our business objectives and resonates with our target audience.
- Lead a team of writers, content strategists, and social media specialists to create engaging and informative content across multiple channels.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product marketing, brand, and performance marketing, to ensure content consistency and alignment with business goals.
- Monitor and report on content performance, using data to inform and evolve our content strategy.
- Ensure all content is search engine optimized and aligned with our client journey.
- Develop and manage the editorial content calendar, including channel plans and content distribution strategies.
- Support product marketing teams and business units with thought leadership and digital content.
- Provide editorial reviews of third-party content sponsorships and partnerships.
- Identify opportunities to improve the content and social team's operating model, tools, and platforms.
- Help create consistency across all digital outbound content and internal/external communication platforms.
- Engage in client-facing content reviews and provide recommendations to drive content excellence.
- 10+ years of relevant digital content experience in B2C and B2B marketing, product marketing, content marketing, and social media.
- ~5+ years of experience leading and managing high-performing teams.
- ~Bachelor's degree in marketing, journalism, communications, or related field.
- Excellent writing, editing, and communication skills.
- Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data and make data-driven decisions.
- Experience in content development in B2C and B2B environments across multiple channels, with experience in the insurance and investments industry being an asset.
- Strong understanding of SEO best practices, social media platforms, and their respective audiences.
- Experience with social media management platforms like Hootsuite, Sprinklr, and Sprout.
- Crisis communication management.
- Fluent in English – both written and verbal.
